Crosswalk Diagram

Crosswalk Diagram
Drivers are required by law to yield the right of way to pedestrians in a marked or unmarked crosswalk. The illustration above shows 3 different types of crosswalks. Motorists should watch ahead for pedestrians at or approaching the curb and slow or stop to allow people to cross the street.

Take the StreetShare Pledge

Help make our streets safer and more pleasant for everyone. Take the StreetShare pledge:
1. Stop to let people cross the street - This means motorists must yield - stopping if necessary- when they see a person waiting in a crosswalk (marked or unmarked).
2. Drive within the speed limit, maybe slower, never faster.
3. Watch for and take care when passing people on bicycles.
4. Obey all laws and treat all other road users with courtesy and respect
